Dr. Luther Oakes

Dr. Luther Oakes was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi. He served as an emergency medical technician and corpsman while enlisted in the United States Coast Guard from 2002 until 2006. Dr. Oakes attended the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine and graduated in 2009. He then completed his residency and board certification in Family Medicine at Louisiana State University while serving as chief resident. Dr. Oakes was the first recipient of the chairmen's award and was selected as the outstanding graduate for 2012.



Dr. Oakes opened Oakes Family Care in 2012 and expanded the practice to include two locations in 2017. In 2018 Dr. Oakes began training in pain management and opened Oakes Family Pain Solutions in May 2018. He and his staff served the Mississippi Delta for nine years before joining PTCOA. Dr. Oaks is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Academy of Family Medicine, and the Chamber and Economic Development Center of Washington County. Dr. Oaks enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, hunting, reading, horseback riding, woodworking, and other outdoor activities.
