Dr. Gautam Gandhi, originally from Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Osceola, Arkansas, developed a passion for neurological science during his high school years. He excelled at the Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences, later graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Biology major and Chemistry minor from Christian Brother University, Memphis, Tennessee. His early research in pharmacology and cell signaling led to multiple publications. Dr. Gandhi earned both his M.D. and a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, focusing on brain energy metabolism, biochemistry, functional brain imaging, astroglial networks, and glial-neural signaling. His significant doctorate research was presented internationally, and he contributed a notable image for the Journal of Neurochemistry.

 

Completing his neurosurgical training at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Gandhi specialized in cranial and spine surgery, with additional expertise in complex spine, spinal deformity surgery, and minimally invasive techniques. His practice integrates advanced technologies like O-arm based intra-operative navigation and Mazor X robotic surgery, treating a spectrum of cranial and spinal conditions with a patient-centered approach.

 

Active in various neurological and spine societies, Dr. Gandhi’s contributions extend to the AANS, AMA, Arkansas Medical Association, and Pulaski County Medical Society. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys time with his family, including his wife Cindy Gandhi, a general surgeon, and their three children. His personal interests include cooking, travel, hiking, and biking. Dr. Gandhi is renowned for his minimally-invasive Mazor X robotic-assisted spinal surgeries, known for faster recovery and greater success rates.
